The Peabody Opera House has announced its 2012-2013 Broadway season. The national tours that will play St. Louis include The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Flashdance, A Chorus Line and Peter Pan.
The famous Rockettes return to the city where it all began when The Radio City Christmas Spectacular opens on November 8, 2012 and runs through November 17. Featuring all-new scenes, sets, costumes and visual effects, the Rockettes will showcase their signature high kicks and precision dancing in tune with holiday cheer for the whole family.
Flashdance will shimmy onto the St. Louis stage from January 8, 2013 through January 13. Based on the hit 1983 movie, Flashdance tells the story of Alex, a working-class girl from Pittsburgh striving to make her dreams of becoming a professional dancer a reality. The show features the hit songs from the movie, “Flashdance—What a Feeling,” “Maniac,” “I Love Rock & Roll” and 10 original songs.
That one singular sensation is back. Broadway’s beloved A Chorus Line will tap its way into St. Louis from March 21, 2013 through March 23. Centering on a new Broadway show about to be cast, 17 dancers are poised for the audition of a lifetime. The acclaimed score by Marvin Hamlisch features hits “One,” “The Music and the Mirror” and “What I Did For Love.”
The legendary Cathy Rigby will fly into St. Louis in the title role in Peter Pan from April 2, 2013 through April 3. The two-time Tony nominee stars in this all-new production of the timeless story of the boy who never grows up and his adventures in Neverland.
